Corporate espionage, internal sabotage, compromised digital documents, fraud, security breach (Hacking), destructive viruses, programmed digital bombs have being directed and executed on Private and Corporate Computers .

All of these instances may lead to civil, criminal and arbitration issues followed by request f
or discovery and interrogatories in compliance with pre trial protocols and the demands of a Case management Conference. An incident response protocol prepares a company to respond proactively to a potential crisis any thing to the contrary invites disaster.

The events surrounding Enron and WorldCom corporate scandal and the attendant disaster and punitive cost, followed by a string of compliance legislations, have now made it imperative for corporations to have a functional incident  response protocol, that is regularly audited.

It is not just a question of choice for medium to large firms and corporate Attorneys; implementing an incident response protocol is the right thing to do. Acceptable Incident response requires a proactive approach not a response after the fact of an incident

Not having a protocol in place may lead to accusations of tampering with potential evidence, having a protocol in place ensures prompt and inexpensive response to motions for  discoveries and
interrogatories.

Business disaster recovery and continuity, presupposes the existence of a functional incident response protocol and tracks of responsibility

     Be Secure , Be Proactive

Consequently, in the absence of a protocol, there is  potentially,  a costly void and knee jerk reaction to corporate disasters especially, as they affect your IT infrastructure.

A lack of a reference point, often leads to a reckless and sometimes deliberate tampering with otherwise probative piece of digital evidence.
Employees are not sure or rather are not informed of what the powers of the employer are with respect to having access to their emails or other forms of electronic communication. Security and user logs are not given the attention they deserve. Business continuity can be compromised.

                 How can we Help ?

Formal and focused training is a pre requisite for developing and implementing an incident response protocol. The IT Manager or the CEO, ( in the absence of relevant training) does  not automatically qualify, as a result of their status, to police and implement a response protocol.

How do you implement a protocol within an organisation? How does the presence of a protocol help with e-discovery?

We specialise in setting up incident response and disaster recovery protocols for Corporate  and small to medium enterprises.

We conduct the necessary gap analysis, prepare  formal protocols, implement relevant training and schedule regular assessment with compliance.
